Now that I've finished uni for the year, and can't get more hours at my part-time job I've got more than enough free time to burn petrol until I get my shit together

Any suggestions for day rides near wellington? I'd prefer to stay away from the wairapa though, it's been WAY too windy lately... I usually go around to eastbourne, or the bays around the airport is usually a nice ride.
