Is there really that much difference between a K5 & a K6? At the moment I havent riden either so it just supprises me that the same bike only one year apart could be so different.

Someone has mentioned the Z750 already... I think its a great bike.
My brother brought an 06 for 11.5K. I took it for a blast and didnt want to get off the thing. The positioning was a welcome relief from clip ons. It had heaps of grunt and I would imagine it would be very easy to flick around a track. Great sound from a standard exhaust.
In the hands of a good rider I think it would more than hold its own with the litre club through the twisties.

at sundays track day there was no difference between my SV and a gixer 600down the back straight, corners and braking - rekon that would be up the the rider.

the SV motor has smaller valves, throttle bodies and less overlap in the cams from the TL motor and as such has plenty of low and mid mumbo. I've done about 10000k commuting in AK traffic since ai got it and apart from the sore wrists have no problems.

sarky bugga; theres many a year a manufacturer has brought out a revision on a model only for it to be VERY minor ( cosmetic at the most )

This coming from one who was whipped on his thou by a two-fiddy. . .

I'd say go for an SV1000s mate. Very nice bikes. And at $12,500 for a K6, you really can't go wrong. Just try anything and everything, and have a lot of fun while you're at it.

Peace hath higher tests of manhood

    than battle ever knew.
