    Sorry mate... Didn't see ya

It really pisses me off when i hear the excuse.... " o sorry mate, i didnt see ya there".

They manage to turn the steering wheel, change gears, push the gas, push the brake, sometimes indicate.... they can do all these things but they cant use their own f$%kin eyes? why didnt they see me?

It's not the fact that they dont see you, it's the fact they didnt look.

Just look at how many people are killed worldwide driving their cars across railway tracks, it's not as if they missed a 1000000kg train coming towards them, they simply didnt look.

Yoy could be driving the Titanic down the road on castor wheels and people would still pull out on you......... i think it's time we start beating these people down who use such as a lame excuse for there own supidity and laziness.

Sorry for the angry rant, but was just in a little ding in a mates car just now and the old prick pulled that excuse out.

    its a bullshit excuse

He saw you he just did not percieve you to be a threat -

any one using that excuse to a cop should have his licence taken until eyes are tested - if they test ok - then they should lose licence for inattention.

If he is blind - lose licence anyway.
If you say either "I can" or "I can't" your correct.

My Dad is a VIP (Visually Impaired Person). He lost his licence due to his sight. In his VIP support group, there is a guy who is a registered member of the Royal Foundation for the Blind (ie he has, at the very best, very limited vision). This guy still has his drivers licence and drives around. Go figure........it gives me the screaming shits.

Under the new 'road safety' regime it's a case of - speeding bad, everything else OK.

Interesting that in Japan "I didn't see you" is a rare admission. Seems Japanese drivers are not too keen on admitting any deficiency in their personal abilities.

There is a point to that last post, and when I figure out what it is, I will, ummm, forget it again.

    No?

What do they do after an accident, quickly commit seppuku before the other driver has time to walk over and tap on their window?

Or do they just get out, walk away in opposite directions and then get their secretaries to arrange towage for the cars so that they don't have to lose face?

Japanese insurance claim forms must be interesting.

    Very interesting!!!

But seriously, it is something to do with the psychology of Japanese society, they prefer to admit "I didn't look" as opposed to "I didn't see you". Somehow admitting negligence is more acceptable than admitting weakness (e.g.poor eye sight).

And I still can't remember the point of my post.

Bugger,Had to reply to this one.
In Japan,,I didn,t see him, her, you,is considered an admission of careless driving. An admission of careless driving in Japan carrys jail time in what is called traffic jail. There is no set sentence, you get out when the powers that be consider you have learnt your lesson.Traffic jail in Japan makes any form of jail time in NZ look like a holiday. So you can forget all the crap about mind set ect, ect.Over there if you muck up you pay.
BTW it,s not always the car drivers fault,a few years ago I damn near ran over a guy on a bike when he tryed passing me as I turned right to go in my drive way,HE didn,t see my indicator, another time I had a guy on a trail bike run up the ass of my car at a stop sign,I still think that one was funny as hell because I could see it was going to happen and said as much to my mate who was with me a couple of seconds before he hit.
Guess some people just shouldn,t get on a bike in the first place.

Can't wait to get my Pajero going....bump,bump - whathefuckwasthat?....oh,just another bike.

How come EVERYBODY sees the cop car? I bet nobody pulls out on front of a cop car and says "sorry, didn't see you"
I've even seen people trying to give way to a cop car even though they have the right of way - go figue???????
