The SSD was a production model that ran along side the standard SD, only 100 or so made it to Australasia and SSD parts were an optional extra for Darmahs.
The Darmah didn't start getting chopped and changed with parts until 82ish which basically was SS swingarms sealey chain adjusters etc and were still being made in 84 when they were renowned for being as you said a parts bin special some even with MHR 900 motors

What Idb said plus it's missing it's steering damper too. but it's a more genuine article than the one in Wanganui

You'll be rubbing your wee mitts now see what Emoto are trying to hock off

Production model it may have been but in reality the SSD was nothing more than a Darmah with SS bits thrown at it

My Darmah had both chain adjustment at the rear wheel and at the swingarm

I think they're fucking dreaming, but I expected to pay a bit more than I did, although there one has got 30K less on the clock

especially when in the early 90s one could be brought for under $12K with only 11500kms on the clock

    Oh yeah

    Front brake M/c is wrong
    clutch lever is wrong
Rear shocks are wrong and upside down
Not sure on those front forks either, they're certainly different than mine and any other MHR I have seen
    Indicators are wrong
    Tail light is wrong

:slap:didn't you read the sales pitch and actually some of those bits are bits you said you'd put on yours

Least some of us kept the externals stock enough to hide what had been done internally, enough to get a spot in a off shore magazine

I normally ignore this kind of thing but why do you think we got $12-13k for that bike? We sold it for $20k and the buyer was delighted.

Yeah, but it's not unfixable: another seat/tail unit, and a pair of zorsts (including those stupid swoopy headers) and you could have a real looker.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I went for a look at this bike on Saturday, first problem was finding the place as with very limited signage it seems you're trying to make the place invisible

The bike is nowhere now as good a condition as mine (although mine has been repainted)and as I said I paid 10K less locally than whats being asked for your one

I wouldn't mind the front forks to try though, be interesting to see if they're much different than the stock Marzocchi with the extra adjustment they have

Just fitted the Ohlins rears on mine, but with pissing down rain outside I think I'll wait for a dry day to test them out
