Theres five or six wonderfully sweeping corners made for a quick blast either way and its in the city, then over the hill down either way to Houghton bay or towards Kilbirnie and one of the Bay routes. I use to walk up there a lot but never taken a bike up so saw it in a 'new light' to speak. Reckon its a great place to test handling etc close to home and you can blast back down to the bottom and start again in a couple of minutes, and its a quiet road.
I agree.

I spent my first few months on the bike heading home from Courtenay Place to Aro Valley by going around Oriental Bay, then through to Lyall Bay and up past the hockey stadium and back through Brooklyn. Was a great run, plenty of corners and not too much traffic.

My favourite 'around Wellington' blast now is out to the Makara Cemetery and back. No traffic at all and heaps of awesome corners.
