radiator gaurds?

Well after following a wheelstandaholic on saturday I got a hole in my radiator,so now I am goin to make a gaurd for it.

Luckily a friends neighbour in aucks works at a radiator shop & fixed it for me today.
anyway does anyone know where to buy mesh suitable for the job.

Repco has it but it's not cheap.

My advice would be to go around to some metal workers and see if they have some scraps. You're bound to find a piece suitable and it wont cost ya much, if anything. A few of my mates have gone this route when looking for the stuff to add to their comp cases.

You might have to take a wire brush to it and then give it a sexy paint job, but that's half the fun.

Just don't forget to take lots of before and after pics for us.

I assume some fine chicken mesh? would do the trick... I have no idea where you would get it from though, best to start with a person who has chickens

then again that might be a bit too large a pattern... hmmm... maybe metal workers are the best bet for now. If not I *might* have something suitable here at home, just a matter of having a good hunt around. Give me a PM if you get really stuck.

Cheers milky, I think I would have to use something quite thick & strong.hopefully stainless steel or aluminium.

Had to bail early though as i was riding sunday aswell and needed to save some cash.

wire mesh isn't any good except to keep birds out. You want to ask for "expanded metal mesh" looks like a flat sheet with diamond shaped holes.
Stainless would be nice, aluminium probably too soft
