I think $20k isn't bad for that much metal. I'm never getting one. If I was to get a cruiser (Not that that would happen unless say.. Angelina Jolie agreed to be my sex slave only if I got a cruiser), the M109R or the Harley Street Rod would be at the top of the list. Pending a ride on a Street Rod anyway.

Seriously, if you like cruisers (You have an M50..) you should give an M109 a go. Being a suzuki they will depreciate really fucking fast and you should be able to pick up a tidy used M109R for under five hundred bucks in about.. Oh I dunno.. A week or so..
But then your only 25 mate, give it another 20 odd years when your backs stuffed and you have no feeling left in your wrists and Angelina still wont be your sex slave and you might look at things a little different.

Oh yeah, I totally agree. Me and my friend (Dreamer on KB) were talking about this the other day. Right now, me and her can enjoy our GSXR (Not an uncomfortable bike at all) or R6 (Maybe not so good..).

But one thing a cruiser rider told me, with a Suzuki C50T, that has stuck in my mind: Sitting completely upright isn't so good, hit a bump and the shock goes right up your back, a little bit of lean forward is good, comfort wise. Mind you, he probably spent enough time in tanks, standing around artillery in use and rebuilding APCs that his body is a bit shattered .

I think I'd stay away from the cruisers and be looking towards something of the style of the Yam FJ or Honda VFR when I get a bit older. Or as the number two bike for the holiday.

It looks much better in the metal, they look stupid and fat and ugly in the pictures. In the real world, you are looking down on it (It is VERY low at the rear end), and it doesn't look so big. Except for that fuel tank. I saw a plane circling me for a while, I suspect it thought it was a runway.
    ...

Anyway, M109R fun. But only for posing on around town. You'd be a loon to try and ride it anywhere. The silly riding position and no protection from the wind would make it a chore if you encountered any weather.
I must be a loon then! Pick mine up next week. Should be a bit more "laid back" than my previous bikes. I loved the M109R, great for a slower rider like me.

If you traded the gixxer on that then you should be anally raped to death by Maurice and his disciples.

    Heretic.

Edit: I just noticed that you also play golf. Good choice of bike.

I disagree. The M109r is very ugly compared to those things, I think a VT750?
