Congratulations on getting your license!
When I got mine, It was raining, and traffic was heavy (Quay St AA)
The guy said to me "If you lose me just meet me back at the depot when you're done"![]()
He may as well have said "Just pay the money and I'll write it out for you" !
Much congrats and kudos
I've got to sit mine in a few months... thanks for the tip, I'll have to remember because sometimes I knock them out of kilter getting on...
again, much congrats
Well done on passing the test - especially getting your head together so quickly after an 'off'.
Tip I was given was to adjust your mirrors a little wider than you'd normally have them, so that you have to move your head when using them, rather than just moving your eyes. That way, the examiner can see you are making use of them.
Can you clear up something for me here? You say you wish you'd cleaned your mirrors so you could have seen the signals better. Don't you use 2-way radios on your tests? Over in the UK, the tester has a radio on and the 'testee' has earphones so he/she can take instruction.
Headphones are a pain to get used to at first, but I'd much rather get instructions verbally than be looking back constantly to see if my examiner has put on the indicators! Surely that is taking away your concentration from the road?

congrats man, i went and booked my full today but the closest time is still 3 weeks away. As to what involved they didn't do the whole indicator thing just gave me a route, told me where to stop. Test over in roughly 7 mins and i was away laughing. Now you on your restricted it's a skill building time untill your pushing the balls off your 250 and you upgrade.
Well done on passing ErikI need to go & book in for mine! I'm broke as a broke thing at the moment but soon!
Glad to hear you & your bike were both ok after your little bin too!
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.
Congrats ErickYeah i binned about 3 days before my restricted test hehehe.... But the lady that took me for mine had a Subaru WRX, so it was going to be a bit harder for me too lose her lol... I remeber that emergency stop. It was just asking me to do a 5 foot stoppie..... But it was a bugger it was wet, otherwise i would have done it lol......
See Robert Taylor for any Ohlins requirements www.northwest.co.nzThanks Colemans SuzukiThanks AMCCI use DID Chains and Akrapovic Exhausts
For a couple of years our Road Code has stated that the test would be done with radios but it doesn't appear to have been implemented yet, at least based on the people I have talked to in Auckland.Originally Posted by Bob

Good one eric.Originally Posted by erik
You passed more than the test. Just remember you get just as hurt in the 'right' as you do in the 'wrong.'
Safe riding.

A little suggestion for ya re ya mirrors.
As the thread is basicly stuffed -Try Helicoiling the thread with a standard thread. Then you can use any accessory mirror you want to instead of being forced to use yamaha only mirrors. (the right mirror on yam's is reverse thread)
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
Of course they dont... You arent legally allowed to go over 70km/h at the point you are doing the test, so technically they cant force you to do so.Originally Posted by Milky
You also cant do the test with a pillion, or at night, or have neything else illegal on your bike.. stands to reason.
As for L-plate, I had one cut from an oil container and coloured in yellow and black. The yellow was very faded and another testing officer came past and told me he didnt think it was yellow enough. 5 mins before test, so I went in and borrowed a roll of sellotape and a yellow application form for something or other... a but of judicious ripping and taping, and viola! Yellow and black plate... That fix lasted about 6 months if I recall, until milky did his test with it....
Queiro voya todo Europa con mi moto.... pero no tengo suficiente tiempo o dinero.....

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
my own fault really.
