    Angry 250 CBR Prices

What would you pay for a 1990 250CBR with 48,000 kms on the clock, the usual scrapes for a bike that old,ie about a 10 cent piece size of fabric off the pillion seat,a few scrapes on the fairings-being dropped at low speed but stil looks fine.dent on the exhaust. Just need to get a idea of market value for these bikes.I wrote mine off and the accesor valued it at $3250. After I bought it about two months before the crash for about $4000. I have been looking on trademe and it is very hard to find one under $4000.

To be honest, even $3250 is a joke... but at least it's an accurate market value. In reality, a 48000km 90 CBR250 is probably worth $1500 tops... it's only the learner license requirements that give something like that any value.

There is always someone out there who wants it enough to pay a ridiculous price which carries the cycle on and on.

For a single R... for 40,000k's in reasonable nick, I would have thought $4,500 private sale minimum.
For a double RR... 30-50,000k's $5g minimum private, $6.5g at a dealer minimum and up to $8g for one in excellent condition... It's a joke, but it's what is happening in reality.

Tell the assessor that he needs to update his prices. They've actually gone up over the last couple of years. They aren't making any more CBR250's, and haven't been for about 12 years, and it's been 14 years since they made the good ones.

just get red baron to write you out a quote for one of there cbrs. make up some bull shit, say its for a persoanl loan or something, dont tell them its for insurance write off, or theyll write out something saying its worth 4. then go to an equally rapeing bike shop, colemans? who should have some around same price d osame thing. two quotes, insurance company cant say 3500, if they do, write to insurance ombudsman.
hope you didnt tell them how much you paid for it.
7 grand is RAPE but its what there selling for.

Yeah, good thinking Mikey. Botany Honda is an option for quotes too, they always have a few CBR250's.
