The only person that will be unhappy if they steal it or waste it is you. Don't let them cajole, pressure, or otherwise tempt you into anything other than sitting on it without getting their money. Just don't do it. You're the one who will end up fucked.... then you'll be off to visit my mum at the disputes tribunal

If they have the money to buy it, they can get that money to cover test rides. If they can't, then f em.
Right on there, better to loose a sale than loose your bike. If they are just "looking around" deciding if they want that type of bike tell em to go to a dealer and arrange a test ride. I wouldn't want to let someone loose without some money up front. Buyers you will agree when it comes to selling your bike, gentlemens agreements and made up contracts count for nothing when the shit starts to fly.
I love the smell of twin V16's in the morning..

So, yeah, this is a really old thread but just want to acknowledge everyone for the advice and stories here.
Have just posted my R6 on TradeMe and was anguishing over this issue.
Ran a search on KB and now I'm much encouraged.
    Thanks everyone!

Put it this way, would you let ME testride your bike?

Mind you my mate gave me the keys to his zx10r, the fastest in nz, and says go for a play.

    Keen man.

    Very keen.

He knew i would take care of it though, buyers viewing and testriding from trademe is a bit dodgy though.

Thats why i prefer to try sell bikes throiugh KB first.

I test drove a terrano 4wd. Friday morning dude said when he drove up to let me take it out
"drop me at work and you can have it for the w.e and gimmie a call sunday to let me know what you want to do"
i was kinda stunned. i ended up buying it though.

as for letting people test ride the one time i did it i made them sign a note saying they would agree to pay for any damages caused in the event of a crash. Kept their drivers license as well

No cash no ride when I sell my bikes. Was happy to give test rides when I sold my RG150. Had a few dicks show up who dissappeared for hours and then 'I don't want it'. Fuck that shit. Time is money.
