Hyosung GV250?

looking to getting a bike to computer to work and out for a long ride weekends.
I have been looking at theses "Hyosung GV250" Can any one tell me what they are like to ride and any other usefull info you can tell me about them. Cheers

sorry don't know anything about the Hyosung but haven't heard anything really bad...

drop it and it'll break, few warrenty problems, cant really take pillions (experience as the pillion here)

pretty slow, slower than a gsx which is slower than a gsxr which is slower than a gsf (bandit) and slower than cbr/zzr etc

They look OK, not a bad deal for a new bike. I'd sooner look at a scorpio if I was in your position though strider.

OK, the GV250 i have actually ridden a brand new one for about 10kms or so - liked it alot but it gave me cramps quickly (im too big at about about 6"3') not a bad bike though really nifty leans well, seemed to cope okay ish with going up normaldale/manguraki and okay on the motorway - it has the same engine but a different gearbox to the gt250 (afaik)

Was my first love and enjoyed tootling round on it. Even got waved at!! Averaged 300-350 k's on a tank of gas and I was not that light on the gas. Build quality is not that flash but nothing fell off.

I lost my license on one of those bloody things. Very nice bikes, asthetically pleasing and equally comfortable and friendly and forgiving engine. It is the same engine as in the GT and GTR models however it is (as mentioned already) geared differently to suite the "cruiser" style of riding.

If you only want a commuter that sounds good (if you take out the silencers) and cruises along nicely and even tackles the odd weekend cruise with ease then it is definitely a good choice.

If you want to see high three digits on your speedo and ride like a clown then this sort of bike would dissapoint you. Then again, if you were looking at a cruiser in the first place I imagine you aren't one of those people.

Will you be starting off on L-Plates or already have licence?

Assuming this is your first bike and L-Plates, my question would be are you looking for an initial stepping stone ie, once you get your Full licence will you want to immediately upgrade? This leads to the next question - do you want a good budget buy?

Seriously consider the $3300 recommended retail price of a GN250 and with a full seat of riding gear you could get away with just over $4000 on the road.

Compare that to your Hyo GV, Kawasaki GPX, or Honda VTR250, you're talking up over $7500 with gear.

I know there are plusses and minuses about the GN250. I see you are over 25 and so you could have your full licence within 12months of getting your Learners. The GN250's are holding their value and hence you will not lose too much in depreciation.

Have full bike licence and just looking to start riding againg. always been interested in the cruser style bike.
Al I can do is take a few bike put for a burn an see what i like. Cheers
