Read and weep, course it is for a new 45hp gj74a one
That's a bench test figure. Running at revs equivalent to 50kph in top. No wind resistance, no tyre resistance, no acceleration, no braking. No correlation at all to day to day riding

Yeah, every Bandit 250 owner I asked or talked to on international bandit message boards reckoned between 180 - 200km from full to reserve. aka around 15km/litre

i think I only get roughlyabout 10km/L on mine, mind you - mine has been officially timed at doing 176km/h (oh and i've seen it off the speedo )
Well thats a good question... Its all good and everything, like when i let off the revs and then pull them back up it does it instantly and without fault but sometimes i stop at the lights and it idles at abut 2,000rpm and i go to put the gas on and it doesnt do anything, it sits still.. it eventually comes right if i hold it on constantly but it really shouldnt be doing that.

agreed. 15km/l would be closer... depending on riding style.

ive spent 5-10 minutes on the side of the road doing that on many occasion, just ask phoenixgtr lol. fortunately for me i bought my bike from a dealer - i took it back and told em to fix it and they figured out it was the carbs (they didnt say exactly what it was with the carbs though)

however, my bike wasnt accelerating smoothly sometimes (i now know that the carb slides must have been not opening or closing properly).

it took me and Slingshot about 2 hours to clean mine but he knew what he was doing as he had owned a gsx and had replaced the needles or something on that.

yea i agree 50 km/L seems utterly unrealistic... i've been trying to figure out how many k's my tank can actually run and the k's keep goin up a hell of a lot faster than 50 k's each litre!!

That is a bench test (ie an artificial rolling road) with no air resistance, traffic, hills etc, and bears no relevence to what you can expect while actually riding.
    Time to ride
