Good grief, just seen this thread now. Absolutely gutted doesnt even begin to describe it. Glad you are in good spirits, and that you at least got a personal best. It goes without saying that if there is anything I can help with . . .

You've got a long road ahead, but we are all here to support and cheer you on. Best of luck for the surgery on Friday.

    Hey Paul.

I was shocked when Tex told me on the phone what had happened to ya mate. It was one of those moments where ya feel like it's a dream and you just want to wake up. One never expects something like this to happen to an all-round good bugger like yourself.

Still remember the first time I met ya at Puke a couple of years back. I cranked up the pace a bit 'cos I didn't wanna get overtaken by an old dude That would've been some great motivation to have when I finally get my arse out in to F2

It's sad that you won't be there for that, but at least you're still with us.

All the best. I'll see ya fairly soon (Monday's a good day I hear?)

Never met you Paul but your reputation precedes you. Bummer of a thing to happen to anyone and if there is anything at all I can do to help I am happy to oblige.

We'll be in to see you as soon as you can handle visitors.

What has happened has shocked and gutted me. I have been thinking about you since I herd the news on Sunday. You are a top bloke and I know you will be able to keep strong through this, and you know that you have plenty of people who care about you when you need them.

Like many other people have already said on here, hollar if you need absolutly anything, anytime.

This is the man that at the VMCC rnd1 when I was walking around with my head uo my arse as it was my first time there and I was late.He let me share a stall with him and has always helped me out when I needed it (and it was alot).
He is one of the nicest and approachable people I have ever met.
    Good luck.

    Paul and Jill,

I just managed to get online and this is the first thing I see. I'm gutted.

I don't know what to say.

I know I'm probably a way down the list, but let me know if either of you need anything.

I was fortunate enough to see Paul on Monday.
As some of you are aware I have had cronic on-going spinal issues resulting in spinal fusion with more to come. PAIN is something that I live with all day, and before surgery last year was unbearable.
Jill believed my experiences would help Paul's mental battle.

I shared my knowledge with him on pain management and assured him that both his family and many friends wanted him well, participating in their lives again. Paul showed remarkable mental strength, being able to joke and accept his position with a steely spirit.

Thinking about you buddy. Stay strong.

Hard to read about this happening to another person so soon after Inline's accident. HAving been in a wheelchair and never believing I'd get out of it, I take each day on my feet as a special day!

Our thoughts are with you both and your families as with Inline4 and his.

Gives us all pause for thought about how we treat ourselves and each other.
