    Shit, just discovered this thread.

First John and now you Paul.

Love and thoughts from the Lemur clan.

Sounds like you're in high spirits which will always help in the healing process.

Looking forward to the build thread for the wheelchair racer you have in mind. Thought about a modified cart? Sure it'd be possible to modify hand controls for one. Add a turbo busa engine, and your away laughing.

I was loathe to mention this before (too early in the scheme of things perhaps), but after hearing about the 'modified racing wheelchair' plans, there is a paraplegic guy in the states who has converted his Gixxer to all hand controls, and adapted some hydraulic stabilizer wheels - it is on the DVD "Black Sheep Squadron" (the guy is pulling wheelies on it FFS) - I'm happy to send it up if Paul wants to have a look ?

Just come back from doing the MotoTT trackday and HRC trackdays on Monday and Tuesday afternoon. Couldn't believe it when I heard about your accident - Colin sent me a txt. I hope the surgery goes well for you and best wishes to you and your family.

    Quick update

Motobob is doing well although they have put a chest drain into his lung because of bleeding there. He is in good spirits but obviously still really tired so not up to visits yet.

Surgery was scheduled for Friday but because of the lab strike this has been delayed - for Christs sake why don't they just pay them what they want - even if hospitals run into tens of millions of dollars worth of debt they are hardly going to close them down are they. Sorry, rant over.

Once the surgery is complete, there will be an approximately 4 week recovery period in hospital (if all goes well) and then he will transfer to the Otara Spinal Unit for rehabilitation. He will probably be there for 3-6 months.

The damage to his spinal cord has been confirmed and is as bad as we assumed.

Motobob reckons I'll have to spend some time working with him on how to corner in a wheelchair...
    Exploring pastures anew...
