Right. Removed the TPS and slapped a bit of tape over the hole.
Now it doesn't touch the tank or starter lead.

I'm thinking the tank was pushing/rotating the carb slightly and opening up the air gap.

If you pushed the tank with your right leg it probably would have worked fine

Do you dress to the left or the right?

By pushing the carb a bit to the right I mean the tank was offset about 2cm to the left before bolting it up.

    Before sitting on the bike...

    Naked.

    Oh damn.

I got some resin/cloth exhaust wrap to permanently bodge the hole in the DR mid-pipe today.

Clean the pipe, wrap it up and then get it hot and cure the resin.

    Only one problem.

It's not just a hole anymore...

There's a 25mm contiguous bit in the back that's holding it together...

    Eeeny meeny miney moe...

The stocker does not work well with the FCR without re-jetting.
    The GSXR mid-pipe has issues.
The Supertrapp is bolted together like Frankenstein's monster but works.

The Supertrapp also moves the powerband up 500rpm.
Now it pulls smoothly from 4500rpm.

    She's right.
Lester is going to have a go next week.

It's 0.5mm stainless and originally broke at his weld so he can fix it

Well, while the side cover and exhaust were off I had to offer up that carbon can just to see...

My ears started bleeding just looking at it.

Also did the first full tank with the FCR and it got 19.5km/l.
Normal with the BST is 18.5km/l.

Very good considering I'm not babying it at all.
