Looks like the SuperTrapp IDS with 10 discs at 1500rpm is about 92dB.
The GSXR600 pipe was 85dB.
Looks like I slit a fork boot t'other weekend so finally got around to putting some Seal Savers on.
It's nice to know I've done the ecologically correct thing.
Only problem is that my speedo cable ran inside the fork boot.
To get it to work properly now it needs to run inside the brake line spiral wrap right up to the master cylinder banjo and then to the speedo.
Of course the cable is in no way long enough...
Back to using the GPS as the speedo for a while.
Also took the chance to re-do the fork oil that's been in since I installed the Intiminators back in April last year.
One leg may have had an air gap of only 80mm compared to the 160mm it should have been.
The front end feels much more betterer now.
If that can get certed then the DR400F should have no problems.
A high front guard would suit that one better IMHO. There's too much of a gap between the fairing and the wheel otherwise.
Here's another to get you inspired

I like the headlight, tank, forks and brake disc...
Trying to source some electrics and engine mounts. Once the engine mounts are done I can look at doing something with the swingarm and chain alignment.
If the chainline is close then I can maybe just offset the engine slightly as I don't want to modify the rear wheel/spacers at all so I can swap wheels between it and the DR.
Then the rear suspension...
Then the electrics...
Mount the tank 5cm back so I've got some steering lock.
Stock headers should be OK. Restrictive but OK.
Then a 2 into 1 that goes up behind the airbox through the swingarm where the monoshock would go and out behind the right shock.
Then a seat, rear guard, side covers...
Then get the electrics hooked up and see if it actually goes.
But first I need to talk to someone at the testing station about what I need to supply to get a VIN...
You should have that all sorted tomorrow then![]()

But they won't let me through the VIN with everything hotglued into place.
Welding is overrated.
Just spent half an hour cleaning dust spots of the dSLR sensor.
Camera on...
Take photo...
Pop card...
Card into computer...
Open photo...
Check for dust spots...
Card back in camera...
Camera to sensor clean mode...
Pop lens off camera...
Pop top off lens-pen...
Remember the sensor is upside down and back to front compared to the photo on the screen when you clean the dust off...
Camera off...
Top back onto lens-pen...
Lens back on...
Rinse and repeat about 15 times...
Looks like I got them all!![]()
Recently mocked up the low guard to see what it looked like and what would be involved in mounting it...
