Re-routed the front brake line yesterday so it wasn't snaking up over the dash getting in the way.

The cockpit is much tidier now

Of course after using $15 of DOT4 to bleed the brakes I see I should have run it inside the lower clamp/forkleg bit...

I'll do something about that when I do the steering bearings.

Just need to find a little guide to keep the line in beside the guard.

Of course I could get away with a 30cm shorter line now...

Is the cable the same length as the stock one?

Ive had the braided line on there since May 2007 and it is the same length as the stocker.
It's been on there since about the day after I was at the bike shop and had a look at CooneyR's bike after he broke his neck and saw they'd put a braided line on. I grabbed the lever, squeezed it and went straight in and ordered one.

Just mounted up a ToolTube to the DR.

If it lasts a few rides without issues I'll put some tools in it...

    Pics to come...

Where ya get the screen from Fran, is it one of those universal ones. I was looking at one simular at some traffic lights it was mounted of the handle bars... looked quite simple, would be ideal for some of our longer trips, the last stint back from national park had me totally knackerd (i hate road kms on a pig)

Yep, standard Givi screen for handlebar mount and round headlight.
Of course I've modified the shape completely and mounted it off the headlight mounts but otherwise it's completely stock

Sweet mate, i got my eye on a Ricky stator and a Baja round light so the screen would complement it well. might just get the screen anyway should be able to make the square light work.

Looking forward to seeing this one - am looking at something along those lines to mount tools low (and permanent) on the KLR so I can assist DR riders when required

That looks good, was jerry rigging a similar thing up on the klr recently using an old supertrapp body. Should work and it made it look like it had twin pipes. Ok I just wanted the twin pipe look and a tool tube was the only way i could have got away with bolting another muffler to it.
I dunno about those klr tubes laying across the front frame rails, they look way too vulnerable to me.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Looking good - how are you thinking of keeping the cap on and are you looking at a lockable option - I was thinking a small lock through some holes to achieve both needs but hadn't quite got my head around a set up that wouldn't be too "rattly"

    E07 rear, Shinko 705 front.

I would be happy doing the summers trail riding with another 705 on the rear. The E07 is overkill.
