Has most effect at full compression... starts to have an effect from mid-stroke and ramps up to full stroke. 30mm is a big change.

How much oil did you put in your forks with the Intiminators?

I put in the stock 160mm from the top with the suspension fully compressed this time and there's seems to be more brake dive.

I measured the old oil and it was about 130mm.
    Racetech also recommend 130mm.
I seem to remember 185 or 165mm from top - whatever the instructions & web thing said. I did put in the correct amount as I triple checked it. I'm not sure if I compressed the forks tho but had springs & everything in. Actually I'm not sure I'll go & check.

Correct amount from the KLR manual or from the Intiminator manual?

Ones painted in classic Yammy colours do.

Normally it is forks compressed, without springs.

Ordered new clutch (OEM) and throttle (Motion Pro) cables from Procycle.
They sent them on Tuesday last week.
    They arrived on Saturday

I think this is the first time I've ever had a bike with a new clutch cable. It certainly does make a difference.

Need a carb manifold hose clamp before I do the throttle cables though.
    Suzuki want $35 for one

Installed my new Motion Pro throttle cables tonight

Removed them and re-installed the old cables just for fun

They're about 5mm longer in the cable inner on the pull side than the OEM.

With the OEM cables the pull outer is longer and with the MP the push is longer...

The inners both need to be shortened about 10mm to be any good with the FCR.

The difference with the FCR is the cables mount up pointing forward instead of vertical which means same length cable outers would be ideal.

They may work on a stock carb but not the FCR

I went into City Motorcycles and they had a mint DR650 OEM manifold clamp on a shelf in Lesters work area.

It was on the DR650 head I dropped off for him to look at for the big valve conversion

Wondering where it got to. I knew I had one...

My DR shit the clutch cable after 12000km. Took 3 weeks to get a new one.

It's not much fun breaking a clutch cable 80km from home. Becomes very interesting trying to take off from a standing start.

The old clutch cable still works - 80,000km.

The new one just works better
