Can you get it going for a while just by replacing the acid?

I poured the left over acid in and will see if it charges.
I'm tempted to make up a small NiCd pack and just charge it every few months.
Only the blinkers and horn run off it.

The bike runs fine without it.

Do they do gel batteries this small?

Really? Got a wee ax100 here and the 6v batt was $18.
    One of these wouldn't do?

As in it's got better things to do than hang about?

I've never actually charged it. Just poured the acid in and bunged it on the bike.
    The bike did the rest.

By expensive, I mean KLR rider type expensive.
    $20 + GST

As it's only powering the blinkers and horn one of those would be overkill
I'll check out JayCar, DSE and some more of the local outfits next week.

+1 Shit yeah - that's even better than one I'd make up.

Check out Rexel for the battery & get it on my account. DSE is often fricking expensive with that kind of stuff.

You're not looking on the right sites then...
This is based on one a guy did on the DR thread on advrider.

Now just have to go to the Warehouse and find a white plastic rubbish bin. I don't think the A4 paper will last...

    From concept...

    To implementation...

    To finished product...

Nice air gap so hopefully there won't be turbulence at 120kph...
