Yep. Clutch out and the damped gear in front of the chain...
Yep. Clutch out and the damped gear in front of the chain...
do the ride out lads need to come and rescue you from a spanner related catastrophe, or have you got this one Nordie?
Trying to get NordieBro around...
15,000km and my "EK 520X BMSTR O-Ring" chain is pretty shot.
13,000km and the Shinko 705 rear is smooth in the middle.
Both have been on for over a year and include the DB1K in their exploits...
Wow. Before the TT350 came along, I was doing 23,000km a year on the DR.
Oh shit
I've just entered a 2.5km/10km/2.5km duathlon
It's on tomorrow
I know I can probably survive the bike ride, but it's too late to learn to run isn't it?
MADNESS!![]()
Where and when ?
I may come along.......just to point and laugh![]()
Eastern end of the Rabbit Island beach. Race starts 10am...
Hmmm... The mtb track goes through the trees... Wonder if you can take motorized transport through there...
Good Luck Fran.
James dont forget the camera
'Good things come to those who wait'
Bollocks, get of your arse and go get it
He'll be easy to spot, the only runner with a Go-Pro strapped to the side of his head...
The first 2.5km run was mostly on undulating sand roads the horses go over...
Took it veeeery easy
The 10km MTB could have been marked a little better but the Crosser handled the sections in the trees nicely, bouncing off branches and pinecones, the puddles well (bottom bracket deep) and the gravel roads really well. I used the road tyres and had no traction problems at all.
The only bits it didn't like was the section near the end that was shared with the end of the run which was dried horsey footprints. Not so nice on a rigid with 35mm wide tyres...
Not as bad as the South Branch of the Clarence but close...
The 2nd run was just survivalCramping up, walking up the rises (hills) (fcukin steep ones) but made it to the finish
Noinvolved...
Got the phone out to turn off the GPS track and saw I hadn't clicked the "really, really start the GPS" button
There were some seriously nice bits of carbon porn in the shape of bikes there.
Some of the bikes weighed less than my phone...
Motorbikes:
It looks like you can almost get right around the sticky outy islandy bit on the left as you go over the bridge on the way in and come out back on the road at the ski boat slalom course...
May need checking out...
Well done.
I used to dislike the sprint distances - too long in the lactate acid hurt zone for me - I prefered plodding along for longer.
I had a mate getting into tris when I was getting out of them. He thought I was big headed when I declined to enter shorter distance events, I couldn't make him understand that to some people the short ones are harder than the longer ones.
Yep those hills are a bugger on Rabbit island. They were thinking of shifting the Everest marathon over there once but though the elevation may affect too many entrants.
Did you have to go along that back road along beside the estuary where the track runs thru the long mud puddles? it's a bugger round there. i try to get the ponies to ride thru it - they know better now
I bet you looked sexy in lycra
In life as in dance Grace glides on blistered feet
When I was doing duathlons, Matt Brick, Greg Fraine, Mark Allen, Erin Baker, Scott Molina, Pauli Kiuru, Greg Welch and co were the gods to look up to...
Along with the young kids like Cameron Brown...
