Your suspension looks very fluid Nordie, great track to play on too by the looks of that, we need something like that here.

Bit like grandads axe now aye. New headlight, seat, motor, wheel bearings, chain, sprocket, mod suspension, mod carbie, new exhaust, mod foot pegs, mod handle bars . Maybe frame and wheels are all that you haven't played with yet. Better shut up I might be giving you ideas!
"The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools." - Herbert Spencer, English Philosopher (1820-1903)
Plastics, tank, frame are original(ish)...
Well the battery was only $80 which is good 'cause it looks like the other batteries are fine
Just finished replacing the starter motor with my old '01 one that I overhauled when the brushes stuck after 1 month of ownership and the bike started right up no problems at all
Looks like it was the brushes in the '97 starter motor.
Right. Let's get this bugger apart...
Clutch off...
Oil line off...
Camchain tensioner and starter motor out...
Starter motor and tensioner from the '01 engine installed...
Oil line back on...
Clutch and exhaust back on...
Hit the button and it starts

oh wise one I have a question
Does a DR 250 have an 18 inch rim?
I have spotted whats left of a DR in a shed and both rims look good, the forks are there to,but the frame looks like theres only enough room in it for a small motor so I'm thinking it may be a 250.
If the rims are the same as jatz 750 then I will grab them if I can.
