Looks like it wasn't originally his tyre.
Was on a bike he fixed up for someone and he put a knobblie on and pulled this one off.
Seems to grip OK.
Impressed with the sidewall. Nice and soft. Over some tarseal judders that would normally see the rear skip slightly at 28psi the Avon rolled through them.
Wouldn't buy one new though... >$200
Unofficially that is...
Was on a Suzi 50 chasing my little nephew on his 80cc quad around the kids track and was getting both knees down in the corners
Then I went out on the DR for a lap or 2 and passed the fast little shit down the straight and was going to brake slide into the corner...
Avon Gripsters slide really well on green grass...
When you're sideways they don't slow down at all...
Nice little lowside. Some people saw it and laughed but as there were no cameras around (apart from the ones I was carrying) it's only an unofficial off...
Picked the grass out of the shifter and footpeg and was off again.
Nice one!
They're not called Avon Slipsters for nothing
Cheers,
Colin

I love the softness of the sidewall. 25psi and it handles the bumps better than MT21's at 18.
Grip on the seal is fine. A little slipping accelerating leaned over on painted lines as per normal and fine on gravel.
Not bad for a 13 year old tyre.
I think it'll stay on 'till shot but I won't get another...
Also noticed an oil leak at the head today.
The DR was parked at the EnduroCrossslightly nose down and there were a couple of drips from the left side of the head dowm onto the bashplate.
Head-bolts/gasket is the primary suspect.
It's always been dirty up there but not fresh oil type dirty...
Soooo you fell off aye?
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
Sounds like a good place for a 50, I'm not sure if my Motard tyres would be up to it on grass either!
Went exploring yesterday, Maungatapu still closed, then headed up to some of the pylons up to the side, awesome fun!
Went to a small way into Sharlands too, but it's a real bugger not knowing where I can and can't go...Anyone want to play guide? Not so quick on the gravel (due to rider skill rather than bike ability) but the clay is great!
I went for a trundle along the new motorway yesterday. cruised past the roller thingies still working on a Sunday evening & gave them a wave. They waved back with a "WTF" look on their dials.
I decided to open up the airflow through the peak a bit.
Red line is original.
No extra noise and noticeably less lift.
How did you cut the plastic?
