The KX stem is in the DR bottom clamp.

The bottom of the KX stem was a fraction of a gnats whisker smaller than the DR one so is held in by the spring clip and the bearing.

    Sweet

Coils/spark leads/caps and carb collector and airbox arrived today

Also looks like the GSX400S twin uses the same engine bolts/mounts.

    Airbox and collector.

The carbs have to be removed to put the airbox/collector in!
The carbs themselves were a bit dirty/stiff/gummed up as expected.

The intakes have a bit of crud and could do with a bit of dremel sanding drum loving.

Butterflies are a bit gummed up. The throttle didn't even move...

Slides are a bit sticky. But all the diaphrams are in good nick..

Dunk it in CRC and open 'em up...

Float bowel is pretty good. looks like they just need a wipe with a rag and they'll be fine...

Not a lot visually wrong here...

Put them back together with a good CRC spraying and the slides move freely and the throttle opens with little effort and closes under it's spring tension.
Will need to check all the o-rings and jets but it looks to be in bloody good condition given it's history...

Bit of a tip for ya Fran. Tighten the airbox to the carbs first, then push the carb/box assy into the head manifolds. Old rubber is a bitch for slippin off. Said the preist to the vica.

Have you tried googling just the part number? That's how I got my CDI for NZ$270 landed (from the Netherlands) vs. 1k plus from Suzuki...

I suspect thats supposed to be 'Nor will we....'

I have a Colorado which will display 3D DEM data on the gps, but no one makes maps with it as the data appears to be hard to get. I wonder if that data is suitable.

Went to do the air filter tonight as it's been a bit boggy off the bottom end for a little while and the filters clean dammit.

May be time to look inside the carb again.
    Last time was 34,000km ago - 25/11/2008.

It's been running sweetly since then.
