Did you ride or just stand around filling the card in your camera? Great stuff, looks like an excellent day....I like to see rooster tails. But where were the exotic heavyweights? Far too many monoshocks. But that's what happens as the years march forward,we have to move ''classics'' forward too.

Same thing at our Xmas trial yesterday,it is supposed to be a classic/Twinshock day,but the moderns far outnumbered the old bikes. As was mentioned by someone...they have 40 trials a year to ride their modern bike,3 trials to drag out the old bike for isn't too much to ask.It must be hard to go back to an old bike though, the modern bikes are lightyears ahead. My last trial was last year's Xmas Trial,it's been a busy year for me....and I enjoyed it sooooo much - muscle memory, put me on the bike it my body remembers what to do.

Here's my pick of the day, total commitment...

This was the one I liked. You'd think from the number of old twin shock Honda XR's that were there they were the MX weapon of choice back then. Long live the "A" model.

    Bugger the "A" model.
    I've got a "Z"

Twin shoch Honda's seem to be the South Island weapon of choice.

    Any 1960's Husqvarna's ? ...Countrywide even...

I remember when the XR500 came out...A mate bought one when i got an RM125N off Coleman's,same price at around $2200.
A bit of a jump from the RM125S in 76 at $1337 or $1448 with HP (on $60 a fortnight)

Nice pic's, would agree with motu for pic of the day, so good to see kids having fun, want to get my grandson into MX he loves riding and has that competitive streak.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

    Dont know if I should

But here is my 1st bike in the condition I bought it in! Hell I cant remember the year but it was many many years ago.
My Dad emailed this pic through to me a few weeks back.
I did rebuild and ride it then sold it/ swapped it for a mighty SL125 in another CR frame. Thought I was the dogs nuts!
I wouldnt mind it back in the garage now.
    Ah memories

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
