    Yes,...another GUZZI thread...

Well,....I took the plunge today and test-rode the gorgeous burgundy V11 from Wellington Motorcycles with the help of Mr Crasher.

    First impressions??
Well,...never ridden a Guzzi before so was expecting lots.
The torque-pull isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
Nice sharp brakes, riding position is nice gentle lean into without also cramping the legs up.

The one thing I was surprised was how much go it had in it !!
I knew it wasn't going to be a Gixxer-eater but I was honestly surprised !!

Anyway, my mate Pete on his Buell Cyclone and I took it North and then through the Haywoods and back down through to the City.

To cut a long story short,...I think I've fallen in love with it,....

    WATCH THIS SPACE............

(Thanks for the heads-up on the ChCh one, Lemans)

You'll keep Jim. You do have to admit that it does look nice. I don't know, maybe I just have taste in bikes.

GSXRZXRCBR's are silly, and every man and his dog has one. I'd prefer to have something a little different from the crowd. That crowd being my peers, or everyone in general.

Generic bikes are boring. Get something different, if you want a Guzzi Nudez, then just get one. The only thing stopping you is yourself mate.

    Yeah,...Ghosties right.
It was just so different from the ZX-10 (well duh, it should be), but it felt more me.
No tingly vibrations and just a nice lazy V-twin lump.

I did notice that I had to corner differently. No drop in, point and squirt, but the old classic Hailwood style responded best.
It's actually very rewarding, that style of riding.

(And yes, Crasherfromwayback, is very good to deal with )

All I can say is go for it.
It's a nice looking machine and should go well.
And if you get Guzzi-itis you will have it for many years to come.
I went out to not buy another Guzzi, looked and test rode a few bikes.
They were all nice bikes but I had to go back to a Guzzi.
Even the shop owners said that I look like I belong on a Guzzi and got called a Guzzi larRIKin, now I'm still not sure how to take those two comments.
But I will take them with pride.

    I've caught the Guzzi-itis...it's like a disease I think. A good disease !!!

Here's another pic of my mate Pete acting the goat with the 2 machines.
Similar but different machines, both old heritage pushrod engines in frames designed to go around corners.

Now that colour is beautiful, even nicer than mine... if you have any questions about the bike just ask, but for now all I can say is 'Bosch 0 332 207 307' will be your best mate... so keep a couple in the boot.
    cheers DD

Oh yes you did say that, Dangerous.
It was an experience of a lifetime.

The Missus rode it too. She was nervous as hell, going from a 250 but found after a little while good as gold. She said the physical size of the ZX-10 had put her off riding it but the Guzzi was great.
So I have full support there too now !!
