    2006 Yamaha R6 vs 2006 Suzuki GSXR600K6?

Which would you choose and why?

If you couldnt tell i've been pre-disposed to the Yamaha R6 for some time now, but i've been seing a few GSXR600K6's around and im starting to like them.

    Suzuki's Offering:

    Yamaha's Offering:

Gotta say the Yamaha designers didn't do much for themselves with the standard exhaust tip.

You dont have to base your choice on the aesthetics (looks) alone, if you've ridden both then i'd really like to know your opinion of each.

does the fact the R6 is 2 sec a lap slower around the Performance Bikes test track tell you anything?

    GSXR600K6 01:39:59
    2006 R6 01:42:39

Both stock bikes tested in the same conditions. The R6 was the slowest of the six hundreds even beaten by boomers pushie.

Shit, i'm surprised by that. Every other comparo was the other way around. Superbike had r6 fastest gixxer 4th i think. only ahead of the 05 cbr. It also cleaned up in world supersport, ama, british supersport and auzzie supersport. nuff said.

I reckon you should go for the gixxer. Only cause im going to buy a r6 and the less r6's out there the better imo

Beg, borrow or steal a ride on them both, it's the only real way to know which is right for you, which is what matters, not what the journos tell you.

Having said that, I couldn't get a ride on the R6r love nor money so had to listen to what the mags and a few mates and shops said... they all seemed to prefer the R6 for the track, and the gixer for all round use (which is what I was after). Plus I didn't like that fact that the R6 has to be revved to hell and back to get anything out of it.

Loved the look of both bikes, had owned two gixers before, so went with what I knew... the gixer 600 with an added 150cc thrown in to the mix

If you can afford the 750... don't hesitate. Handles as well as, no better than my previous 600s and packs more punch but not too much more... bag one now!

Right, sorted then. And I see it's your birthday today R6 Kid so it'd be rude not to treat yourself!
