I almost went with a similar v11 about a year ago and then got some comments on reliability. After checking with others and the web I found there appeared to major reliability problems, numerous warranty recalls etc. On talking further with thte seller he mentioned he had parts for several of the repairs to be done and would be happy to include them so I could get the work done. He also couldn't tell me which repairs had been done. Great looking bike but I passed on it. Comments were as extreme as its spent more time not going than going. The Griso and Breva seem to be fine.

Awesome, those pics really show up the guzzi's true colour. Snap it up if it feels right to you, it is an awesome looking bike & looks like new.

I was like your other half a bit nervous of taking the V11 for a spin but it was so easy to ride & fun I think Lemans will have to hide the keys from me or maybe we should get another one, don't think I want a monster anymore.

Well I did over 250k's (non stop) around the hills here in Ch.Ch today and what a hoot. (Summit Rd to Akaroa and back using some back roads in the hills as well)
It just got better and better as I got use to it.
This bike has been well sorted and the only thing I'm going to adjust is the gear lever as it's low for my big feet.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

Cheers, I was so pleased when she took the plunge and went off on it.

Yeah, our ride was similiarsh to those roads (I'm an ex-Cantab) and the V11 suited it perfectly.
The complaint I had was I didn't have anough time on it !!!!

I rode one of those V11's some years ago when I was semi considering a new steed. Only a trip around the urban streets sadly, and a couple of k's on a motorway... it was somthing, the only thing was the preasure on me wrists, but then I had that in the beginning when I bought the Grizz around the slow town stuff.

These machines sure have performance potential, after seein Dangerous on his, you can see that.
After 6500km I am still getting a little more confident every time... given this is the first bike I have owned with some snot in the middle.

Yeah, they're definitely not slow, revs nice and hard too with a great induction noise. Problem was, was that my friend's Buell has a V&H pipe on it and it was mostly all I could hear on our ride when we were close !!!

The other thing I would do is put a small Givi screen on as the windblast was not something I'm used to (coming from a cosetting ZX-10 fairing).

My research totally concurs with what Dangerous says also (not that I would question him )

No such problems with this year V11 mate....the early ones had 'issues' with rods and gearbox hex's....all done under warranty recall. But this model was clear of all issues. Besides....we sell all of our pre owned bikes with a full engine and gearbox warranty!

Never heard of any and know no one that was afected, having said that most bikes would have been sorted before being sold, just a precautionary on behalf of MG.

Electrical probs are all I have come across... with the 1100 sports extra earths were needed and with all dodgy Iti electrics the relays need replacing with a part that can handle the current.

I would not rush out and get a screen just yet (that is if you buy the bike), as I found it not to bad with out one.
I was sort of thinking about one in the back of my mind, but now I'm not sure.
It's still early days but I want to ride with out a screen to hide behind to feel the speed a bit more to slow me down.
And found at legal speed it was just fine and just above.
    So I'm told Officer.
