I was gutted when i heard this last night. I didn't know Bruce or Darryl very well, spoke to both of them at the odd ride and trackdays. Both excellent riders, and top blokes. Their will be many sore hearts after this.
RIP Boys and love and condolences to all of their close mates and families.

It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.

    RIP guys....
Sux coming back here to tragedy, but I remember the first time I met Bruce.
I was flat out on my 250, him on one wheel flying past me out of castrol (pukekohe).
Then the exhaust fell of the TL. Right in front of me.
When the session was over, he sheepishly asked to borrow my drill and riviter to make repairs...
At the rise of the hand by Policeman, stop rapidly. Do not pass him by or otherwise disrespect him.

There's nothing I can say that hasn't been already.

We're all devistated and in a constant state of shock.

I'll always remember Bruce squirting green E2 under Darryls bike at Pukekohe in the pits, then Darryl rolling around under the bike for 5 minutes trying to figure out where the hell the green muck had come from. Or Darryl doing 3 trackdays on the NC30 with the same mysterious "cut out" problem, 'till it finally died. He packed a shit and undid the tank bolts to have a look under it after I'd told him to make sure he had fuel.

Damn those empty tanks are light.........

I'll always remember these two guys for what they are. Smiling, pisstaking, genuine blokes having fun on bikes.

Yeah - that day was hilarious...

Although Two Smoker giggling like a 13 year old girl was a bit of a giveaway.

Another moment - at a trackday at Taupo......

Dumbass Bruce asking me where he could get a plaster for his bleeding finger after a tiny off.......

I point at the ambulance 3 meters away....and he does he characteristic head scratch half laugh move....

Dammit Bruce.....you really didn't have'ta die you know......

    Fark

Ive been sitting here for a while trying to work out what to type.
I was fortunate enough to of met Bruce, I wouldn't say I knew him well, but we had spoken on a few occasions. My memory of the guy, is a bloke that would come over and say "G'day hows it goin" and actually mean it. He always took the time to say Hi to everyone. If I was going on a KB ride and he happened to be on it, I knew it would be a good ride. The man passed me on one wheel I don't know how many times, I'm sure I wasn't the only one that had that privilege.
I have ridden with Darryl at least once, but again he was a rider that was in a category above me in skill. Hence I never got to see him on the road much. (me at the back of the pack, him at the front) I have watched him on the track and been astounded by both Bruce and his ability to ride a bike to that level.
From my personal experiences and from what I have read on KB these are two amazing people that will be deeply missed.
The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook.

The story behind these pics... It was a KB ride with Firefight down SH22, Loosebruce was late due to working, he had kindly lent me the beast of a TL which i had chloe on the back with. We got back to the Bombay autobahn to have some chips and coffee... Quote of that day was "Bruce, do you know you are really fucking ugly" said by firefight as he was taking a photo of us hoping bruce didnt break the camera.... Bugjuice is next to Bruce, Chloe is opposite him, and im next to chloe... It was a good day, and one of many that bruce has had...

hehehe Bruce.... only 23 (in that picture) but looks like he is 35...
