Its just horrendous to hear of such a thing. A terrible loss to Motorcycle world and KB and way too close for all of us.
    RIP both of you...
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

    A tragic loss

two fantastic vibrant young men gone..

Bruce a very good mate, some great times sitting in my garage talking while I fixed the mufflers on your TL, (something to do with getting scrapped on the ground while on one wheel !!) always welcome in our home, always the jokes about our age differnce, but bonded by our love of bikes, some great rides on 22, heaps of great memories.

Darryl I remember the first time you dropped your knee on Rotowaro rd, the look on your face when you told me said it all,and watching you in the pits at Puke , helping others and neraly missing your slot to race !

    A sad sad day

Our thoughts are with you, your family and those who were on the ride, or who responded to help.

Rest in Peace Bruce and Darryl .

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
    my own fault really.

This would be the saddest news I've heard in a very long time.

There are only a handfull of Kiwi Bikers that I have met but I got to know both Bruce and Darryl pretty well as they stayed at my house several times this year while they were competing in the Manfield rounds of the Vic club winter series.

Both of them were complete and utter good buggers and gentlemen to boot. They will be sorely missed in our house.

    Man... speechless.

I remember racing against darryl at Puke - he had a beautiful VFR400 that he had painted up, looked awesome.

Never met LB - but I know he was a good bugger too.

    You'll be sorely missed fellas.

When I crashed last year, he helped me pick my bike up, when I went on my first trackday he made me follow him at a slow speed to learn the lines, when I didn't have money and had dodgy wheel bearing he changed them for me for free at his house, just the other day he was at this new KB'ers house changing her fork oil and reconditioning her forks.

I respected him a lot, not only for his riding skill, but because he didn't have a fancy education but worked two jobs - and became a successful business owner - and he's only a few months older than me.

He was an absolute "Winner" in his professional, social and sports life.

What a terrible, terrible loss.... he had so much to live for...........................

If someone can please explain why I have wet eyes at the moment. For two guys whom I did not have the pleasure of getting to know, we will miss both of you so very much.
    RIP Darryl.
    RIP Bruce.

Like alot of other KBers, we never had the pleasure of meeting Bruce or Darryl (only reading their threads and posts on this site) but are shocked at their tragic passing. As members of this NZ wide biker family both Mrs W & I feel a sad loss and can only extend our deepest and most heart felt wishes to their loved ones and riding friends. ---- Its too late to do anything about this tragedy.. BUT FOR GOD's SAKE.. LETS BE EXTRA CAREFUL OUT THERE and spare a thought for the Family and Friends we would leave behind should the unspeakable happen to any of us.
Just a thought....would it be appropriate to organise special Remembrance Rides in the other districts to coincide with the Funerals of our fallen friends ??? Cheers Donna & Me

This is rough. Like gijoe, just come back from the awesome 250 ride thankful that no one was hurt and then read the two threads on here.

RIP Bruce and Darryl, keep stunting up there! Condolences to all involved in this terrible accident.

I only heard about this today when I got a call about the Bruce's accident. I only met Loose Bruce once and didn't know DSS but, I know they were well loved within the biker community.

My sincerest sympathies to those who knew & loved them.

    Don't know what to say.

Bruce - friend, mentor and one hell of a rider. . Good bastard even bough this poor student a tank of gas. Teaching me how to clown around on bikes. Always giving usefull advice on basically everything. I'll miss ya man.

Darryl - Bloody nice guy, wish I couldv'e gotten to know you better.

Codolances to families and friends, it was a sad day indeed.

Quotes: "Me and Bruce are like peas in a pod." Said By Daryl. "Dont mention that too loud Daryl." Said by Bruce. "See, you are a bunch of homos" Said by me... Alot of conversations went like this...

If you were around these guys there was bound to be a laugh...

Bruce was beating Daryl at Manfield (I had carried out the team muppet tradition by crashing for them, one of us pretty much had to crash at a race day). They crossed the line under the chequered flag when Bruce could hear Daryls bike. Daryl was giving him the fingers, then Bruce was doing the same while looking back... Bruce forgot about turn 2, and went straight ahead before falling off at walking pace on the warm down lap!!! Daryl nearly crashed due to laughing his arse off...

Then there was general mocking... Like when i got mocked heaps by them because of my new leathers (they were apparently gay because i hadnt scrubbed them in) and that moved onto Bruce when he got his new quasimoto leathers... And the laughter that followed when daryl backed his work 4x4 into the trailer...

Ill bring some more funny stuff when it comes to mind...
