    yeah, im with you man.
i went to the kb bbq yesterday, on the way up winja told me some guys had passed away from kiwibiker.
once threr we found out who it was.
i never met either of them, and more's the pity.
i did read alot of their posts in my never ending quest for riding skill, they knew their stuff.
thanks to all the kiwi biker crew on sat night at the bbq, for your stories, hospitality, and letting us depart back to hamilton at 11pm!
were all family, and the passing of these two brought that out of me.
    thanks kiwibiker.

Please share your funny stories and memories about these two great guys. Some of us were with Bruce’s family today and it helped all of us sharing our memories. I know his parents would love to read your stories, and they would be grateful if you have pictures you can post up or give to them.

I’ll always remember the day I got to know Bruce a lot better. We were traipsing around the infield at Manfield taking pictures and video of our mates on the track. With both his hands in casts, he gave a hilarious enactment of the difficulties he had in wiping his arse. We solved a few of the worlds problems during the day, and later on I had the dubious pleasure of gently rubbing Xylocaine onto the tops of his feet to relieve the pain of the nasty sunburn he had sustained during the day.

I called Bruce my ‘Evil twin’ because we shared the same birthday and, at one stage, we both wore the same Spool one-piece leathers. Of course the ‘evil’ part was just my joke. You’d be hard pressed finding a nicer, more generous bloke. He would always take the time to chat, never once let me pay for pizza, and would do anything for you if you needed it.

His escapades with the law were entertaining and he sure did attract a lot of attention from them. I don’t think I ever rode with Bruce when he had mirrors or indicators on his bike, which meant he was regularly turning right round on his seat to check on those of us behind him, giving us a nod, wave or cheeky grin before he turned round again and hoisted the front up.

As for Darryl, well I don’t know about the rest of you girls, but I always enjoyed his undy displays at the track! He was a genuine, top-notch fella.

Bruce and Darryl are, for me, legends in the motorcycle scene. They were soul mates and in a tragic way, it’s fitting that they left this world together. Yesterday when the grief was overwhelming me I had this sudden vision of the two of them doing wheelies on a cloud, laughing and egging each other on. It did make me feel a bit better. Whilst they are no longer with us in body, I’m sure they are with us in spirit.

I’m going to miss you guys

one case where my signature really says it all for me

The bond that joins your true family is not one of blood ,but of respect and joy in each others lives.
rarely do members of the same family grow up under the same roof
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

I knew Bruce but not Darryl...

But if Darryl is just like Bruce (which I gather he is)......RIP?.....Nah...

Go sick my biking brothers on the universe's greatest race track. Where every corner is a constant radius and well banked. The barriers are as soft as the clouds you're amongst. There are no pedantic police where you are, you're both in biking heaven, let the lap records tumble.

To close friends and family, hang tough, you know that's what they'd want.

    Pete

Guttered. Wish I could have done more. The lassie on the scene was so strong and I don't know how she kept it together. To Darryl and Bruce's friends and family - time is a good healer and you will always remember the good times.

    RIP

Here is a Bruce story, We were talking about how night time wheel stands looked so cool with the headlights dancing around in the sky. He then recounted a time where he was alone on the AK motorway doing just that when all of a sudden a huge spotlight fell upon him and he looked up and realized that he had attracted the unwanted attention of the eagle police helicopter!
He told me he pulled over dropped to his knees and started bowing up and down in front of them begging for mercy. The cops flew off. I bet they were pissing themselves laughing and would have had a great laugh when telling their mates about this crazy biker back down the station
