RIP guys.
Absolutely shocking news, and extremely sad.
Thank you Bruce and thank you Darryl. You have both been a huge inspiration to many riders. Whether it be on the road or the track, I would always here people saying how they wish they could ride that well.
You both were truly gifted riders and genuine top blokes. You will be sorely missed by more people then you probably realised.
My thoughts are with your family's and closest friends.
Rest In Peace

"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule
Hey the DomPost this morn said there were three bikes involved and the other guy isn't too flash. I didn't realise there was another guy (if the paper's right) - do we know and can we say who he is?

We never met personally but we have spoken on here... and all was good...
What a tragedy... Take care everyone out there.
Holy shit... I've never riden with either of these guys, but having chatted with them in topics here on KB on occasion, this news is enough to give me goosebumps and tears in my eyes...
My prayers and thoughts go out to the friends and family![]()
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing![]()

That's how I'll remember Bruce - A really great guy. He will be missed
I never had the pleasure of meeting these two great dudes, but I feel their spirit and passion for motorcycling will be with us forever - RIP dudes.
damndidn't know these guys, but can see they will be well missed. RIP riders and condolences to family and friends. P Pegs down as mark of respect.
No matter what shit you got in to in the past, your future remains spotless.
I never had the priviledge of meeting Darryl, but from all accounts it sounds like he was a top guy - no one ever has a bad thing to say about him. Certainly if he was anything like Bruce, he must have been quite the character, and I'm sure all that have met him are richer for the experience.
I met Bruce a few times, normally at track days or up at Hell for pizza and stunts. I still remember him giving me grief before a MotoTT track day about how his gixxer had an appetite for Aprilia's. He was right, of course, with him on it that bike had an appetite for everything! I had the utmost respect for his ability on the track, and up on one wheel. He made it all look so effortless, and the sight of him flying down the front straight of Taupo past the pits with the bike bouncing off the rev limiter "cause it sounds fking cool" was something to behold.
Also remember him saying at the Suzuki track day just a month or so ago, how he was taking it easy as his bike was in road trim. Then he had seen Stroud up front and reckons he couldnt hold back - the challenge had been thrown down and road trim or not, Bruce was up to it. Sure enough, on the final session of the day, Stroud blew past me, closely followed by Bruce, the bit firmly between his teeth.
Bruce was always full of life, he was all smiles and jokes, ever willing to share his knowledge and experience. The enormous contribution he supplied to the biking community in the form of wisdom, laughter, encouragment and cheap pizza, will never be forgotten.
Farewell to both Bruce and Darryl, you will be sorely missed.
Such a terrible loss - for your family , your friends and for mankind. You will be missed.
R.I.P. guys
