    Bought me a '91 CBR 600F today (6 January)

Well after having had some good advice from KB's about 600cc bikes. and
after test rides, I found the bike that suits me just perfect.

    Anyone else got one?

I got one ... and wouldn't have anything else! We were discussing what we would buy if we won Lotto (as you do). I reckoned it would still be a CBR600, I'd just go for the 2001 model, the last of them before they went to the RR and clipons (couldn't have done 2,000km Welly-Auckers-Welly and beyond in 12 days on one of those without sore back and hands).

OK, I have been razed about my pink wheels and someone demanded photos - here it is...

Yum. Either saw this one on trademe or one nearly identical and was really tempted (don't think that the furry extras were included though ... ) but didn't have enough - so congrats!
Back as a schoolboy I thought these were the biz and after reading some reports on them was convinced they were the ultimate real world sportsbike. Long tourers plus fast plus cool.
However, bought an '88 GSX600F myself which I also thought was cool in the '80s.
All I need do now is pull Samantha Fox and my schoolboy dreams will be complete.

Hey granma, what is it that you like about yours? Someone once said that these bikes were so good at everything they do that they're boring. I bet they don't ride one ... LOL

Thanks for that - made my day (long pause ... NOT)

Well the GSX will have to do until I get a newish CBR ... after I've done the kitchen up for the misses, bathroom too, fixed the car, erm, maybe the GSX it is then.

    Can't go wrong with a 600. I have a younger model, a CBR600FX

Hey you would be exactly on the button there.

The bike was the right height for me, I'm only 5' and I just couldnt be bothered to fluff around getting a bike lowered.
It is all a matter of personal preference. My partner rode it ( he's a dedicated V-Twin fan, VTR Firestorm.) and said at first he thought it was boring...until...he wound it up a bit and was most surprised at the bikes performance and handling.

As soon as my partner bought it up to me at work, I just knew it was right...then I rode it. Everything fitted like a glove. Seat height, handlebar position, smoothness of gear change, turns on a dime and smoothly. I could go on forever but anyone who owns one will know what I'm talking about.
I had tried other bikes but there was something that they had that I didnt like. I was tempted to get the R6....but it couldnt be lowered successfully enough to keep the handling stable. Plus it was too quick and I could see myself getting too many tickets.

I'm off for a ride today. Not sure where yet but will just get on my bike and start riding. My poor man has to stay home and babysit. BUGGER!

And lucky me I ride at least 40km per day to work and its going in the opposite direction to the city.
