    Question Chains and Sprockets . . .

I've just bought myself a new bike and the chain is in desperate need of replacement, the sprockets dont look too bad though, there is still a flat spot of a couple on mm left on the top of the teeth.
As a rule I have always replaced chain and sprocket together on previous bikes and I probably will on this.
But I was just curious what others thought on this subject?
Is it a no-no to just replace the chain?

Have always done the same as you until i bought a steel toothed ali centered one......damn thing just refuses to wear out..was expensive but i think it will be money well spent....the claims of lasting 3 times longer may well be true.

Steel tooth and ali centre huh, . . .
Hmmm, no idea what mine has, but I like the sound of that, might have to look into it. How much did one of them set you back?

What I've done in the past is bought a new cheapish non oring (DID chain around $50) and by the time that's worn out the sprockets are about ready to replaced as well.
Life is difficult because it is non-linear.

Cheers for the link and the pic, you've got a sweet looking ride there.
Have always thought the TL's were pretty sexy machines.

If you can see any wear at all on your sprockets, replace them. Keeping a worn sprocket will lead to much reduced chain life.
