Had the same problem on a 200 honda, could be a bent selector arm,
check that the main shaft drive shaft in the gearbox is not worn at the sprocket end, I have just done a rebuild of the honda gear box and worn bearing and slightly bent selectors where the problem, she goes beaut now and doesnt jump out of second at all, but alot of work. Your problem
could be the gear change shaft and index plate being worn to the extent that 2nd gear is not being pushed fully into position to allow the index plate to click into position, both require a bit of work but I would check the gear change shaft first.
Good Luck
