    My tribute to uncle b

'UNCLE' I feel this tittle as being inadequate as to me and others you were much more. We looked up to you, and was amazed by your generosity no matter who the person or there stature, you treated all of us as equals. A better man then me said "you will live through your children" although you may not of had children of your own you inherited many kiwibikers as your own. Being around a truly honest and caring person like yourself has had a profound effect on many, including myself. "And this will live on in all of us". You were a true inspiration to all, we will live up to your expectations. you are a truly great man and you will not be forgotten.

forever changed for the better by a great man

    Well said c-l-s

There are few that pass through our lives with such magnitude, and Bruce was a rarity. I shall always be a grasshopper and he my mentor.

Heads Up and Enjoy [for that is what he would expect of us now c-l-s]

Hey SP...theres another foggy summit photo that UB used in his profile a while ago. It was taken from the front and was an excellent pic. Maybe you took it and you still have it?

    Cheers.

Yeah that's one of mine from this set http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=23838

While I'm no newbie I enjoyed the ride that day and it did give me real respect for Bruce the effort he put into helping the newbies and organising that ride and rounding up guys like me and Sels1 to help. As I mentioned on that thread too his patience was outstanding he cruised all day with the team and only finally gave it a squirt up the 'takas on the way back.
    Cheers

    Merv

One thing nobodies mentioned is that he was always bloody late, sometimes by 24 hours, for his own rides. How many times did we go on a UncleB ride without him.

so true...I asked him to come along to a ride with some other friends of mine. leaving at 9:30 from Rumitex. I went early and got there at 9:00 and found out that i had the time wrong and the guys wanted to leave. I phoned him and told him to hurry up...he said that he will be there in a flash. He arrived 9:45. Now if i had not phoned him to hurry up, not sure What time he would have pitched up then.

    I've

Found in my time selling bikes that when dealing with money it can bring out the worst in people.

I sold Bruce his SV1000, and he was a total gentleman throughout the whole deal.....if everyone was as honest and plesant to deal with as Bruce was, it'd be a beautiful world!

    Pete
