Talking Brass Monkey 07 Soft Tripper

Having ridden for only a couple of hours it was great to camp under the KB banner and meet all of you. Thanks for the friendly introduction and the instuction to stop lurking. I didn't enjoy the rain, enjoyed the frost. Rode back to Balclutha vis Clyde, Cromwell, the Kawarau Gorge, still with frost on the shaded corners. Admired the way a 4x4 (Disco) was parked in one corner!
Usual bedlam at Frankton for fuel. Five potential revenue gathering vehicles between Frankton and Lumsden, great ride with little traffic down the lake to Kingston and then the boring V-Strom shuffle home to Clutha. Hope you all had safe, entertaining rides home, especially those on the gravel. Cheers.

Nice to meet you Mbazza, good to see the lurking has stopped. If you are trying to put a name to the faces they are:
XF650, Gerry (non-kber but soon to be...), The Mistress, timg and me.

Had an awesome time, did a long trip home to Chch via the Lindis/Cromwell. Heaps of other bikers around also and I hear the other adventure riders had a great time through the Black Forest.

    Hi Mike,
Yep, the gravel is fine. A bit slower on the wee-strom than it was on the XT600, but it's no problem. Thanks for the contact. Cheers.

We had a great trip through Blackforest - will have to go back there. Plug & Co caught up with us on the Haldon Road, which is in beautiful order for speed at the moment. Then out through McKenzie Pass.

Gerry rode the DT230 most of the trip & had a blast, including overtaking other bikes that are much more powerful. Watching him power - sliding through Dansey's Pass was an inspiration. It's a thirsty wee beast though.

Good to hear that the mightly DT230 can pass more than just harleys then! I hope the traction control didnt hinder his efforts like he said it did in the Danseys! I assume you used all of your extra fuel then?
