Theoretically it shouldn't make any difference.
If you're the main rider, then the bike will be rated as if you own it.

I did an online quote for insurance - can't remember off the top of my head which company, but they came out at $400 a year
Although that is for full insurance...I'm a student!!! I don't have that sorta money, i was hoping bikes are going to be cheaper. Ah well, i'm going for it now either way i'll have to find the money, because i did my basic handling test yesterday - Pass yay

Good to get insight from those in the industry! I went with Tim, (Jetboy), as his quote matched Kiwibike but he's a KB'r and the terms were good. We've been with State forever and have all our insurances with them and have nothing bad to say about their prices or the service we've had from them. However their quote for the bike was about $200 over Tim's and no roadside assist on bikes despite having it free with our car insurance.

    nac

Give NAC a try. From the 15+ companies i tried they were the cheapest.

The only problem is they dont combine all your other insurances... but that aside they are cheap cheap cheap. Roadside assistance is included too.
