Question Help! Who does reboring & pistons?

    Hello my lovelies.

Why are we having so much trouble with this? We have sent countless emails to engineering shops and specialist shops in NZ and Aussie and so far..sweet fark all help from anybody. Perhaps its because its nearly christmas? i dunno. anyhoo this is the situation..

My dad has got a 1960 BSA Goldenflash A10 650cc and has recently taken his baby off of the road for a rebuild before he heads down to the South Island in February for a rally. He wants his barrels rebored to "+80" and he also needs 2 new pistons. If any of you lot can help, or know someone who would be able to help who is in the trade, or have had work done somewhere that you can recommend, can you PM me with the details, or post a reply to this thread.

This is my dads pride and joy we are talking about people!
    Thank you lovies.

Does he need +80 ? I don't recall ever seeing +80 pistons for the A10. I'm not even certain the barrels would take it.

One option is here, sleeving the barrels back to standard. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BSA-A10-HEPOLI...QQcmdZViewItem

Or an engine reconditioner could probably arrange something along the same lines here in NZ

Or pick up a set of not-so-overbored barrels of Ebay, they come up from time to time.

Congrats on the Bantam BTW , fun bikes. And welcome.

I've seen A10 pistons come up on TradeMe from time to time, but none there now....with these sort of bikes you need to plan ahead.I always kept at least one new set of next oversize for my bikes. The pistons are up to you....any recondtioning shop can rebore the barrels, let me know if you have trouble...my local guy does bike barrels.80 thou is well over max oversize for an A10,even 60 thou would be stretching it as they were a known weakness.Get whatever pistons you can find, and sleeve down.
