Go for the Yamaha, much better sized bike &with the bigger motor,as he gets more experienced he wont get bored
The NXR125 is a small bike & would struggle on the open road
"The road to Hell is really grippy with loads of run off & some wicked lefthanders"
jeez I wouldn't go for either i'd get 'the little bastard' an old gn250 to learn on, then if he crashes it, it doesn't matter to much, whereas if he crashes a $3500 bike you've paid for, i'm sure you'll be pissed off, but I'd go the yamaha as well out of those two choices, or for that money you could get a gpx250 second hand

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.
I saw an ad on the public noticeboard in Rangiora New World today for a Honda CB250 twin, for $2k. Maybe someone from that neighbourhood would be kind enough to get the contact details for you. Great, indestructable learner bike, and probably well worth investigating further.
Any volunteers from Rangiora prepared to have a look at the ad for jimjim tomorrow?
"Safety Cameras" Yeah, right!
thanks for the offer at the moment im in a looking mode wont be making any purchases or at least 6 months but it was wet yesturday so we had a father/son tyre kick at the local bike shops
I've been testing a new Lifan LF200. Road legal 200cc 4 stroke trail bike. So far I'm impressed. Can do highway speeds, good around town, decent brakes - disks front and rear. The good bit is the price - $3295.
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.
