    WOF in Christchurch

    Gidday all.

This weekend I'm taking the bus up to Christchurch (10 long hours) to hopefully purchase a bike from a guy in Hanmer.

Where is the best place to go to get a WOF on the bike before I ride back to Invercargill? (Bike is an RF900)

(And whats the weather going to be like in ChCh this weekend)

    Cheers all.

mmmmm I have always just used the ole testing stations, but then I did not have to try and hide anything... and I just like the thing of ride in-ride out.

Good luck with the journey, I think the weather is spossed to be alright but dont hold me to that, you never know what is going to 'appen.

    Welcome aboard.
Jeeze mate, thats a hell of a trip for a bike you've never seen! If it hasn't got a current WOF then I'd get one before even leaving Hanmer- theres a garage on the right on the way out. No WOF = no insurance

    Cheers,

Yeah the guy works on a Glen Wye station and busy with silage making so wont have a chance to get a WOF.

He has assured me it is top notch, so I'm just hoping he right.

On the insurance issue I thought the same as you but checked with my Insurance Company (State).

They said that the only time having no WOF is an issue is if you caused the accident and the cause of the crash is as a result of something that is covered by a WOF check. This was a huge surprise to me.

Pop past and I can take you into VINZ where we get all our COFs done. Guys there are pretty good at letting small (and I mean very minor) things pass but they make a note. Also, we get discounted prices. Costs me about $18

AFAIK this is correct. Ring Wilson Motors, Hamner Springs, they may be able to help.
