I have a honda, and I can't wheelie for shite on it.

( no pink slippers though )

Also someone cable tied my hondas peg rubbers on before I bought it.

They must know about that "special" WOF rule too.

In this day of passing the buck I would sue Givi - after all it was their shonky design that necessitated the removal of the foot-peg rubber...

Another thing I like about Aussie, no WOF to worry about. Just a "Pink Slip" once a year where a local mechanic checks indicators and headlights by looking at them. No measuing light adjustment, just looks at the headlight. Tyres have to have more than 3mm tread. The only thing that cagers need really worry about is clearly visible rust. No checking brakes either!!

And it used to be tougher in Aussie than here, how times change eh? The changes in the WoF regs came about the same time that Jap imports started. The cars didn't meet our regulations, which weren't tough, just the regs for NZ.So we had all sorts of shit go down with people having to change seatbelts and windscreens. These days rather than make the cars fit our regs,we change our regs to suit the cars. There has been nothing special done about bikes, they just get caught up in the changes.

I had my revue a couple of weeks ago,and being the beligerent prick I am,I made no special effort...didn't tidy up my bookwork, didn't swat up the VIRM - it was an as you see me audit.Shit,he threw the book at me,he's not impressed at all! I thought it'd be kinda fun to stir him up a bit...he's given me a shit load of stuff to do....but I've still got a smirk on my face.

Apparently Queensland has the worst vehicles on the road. There are no checks whatsoever. Peoplewith real POS used to drive upthere and get QLD rego. They've changed the rules now so that if your vehicle is in NSW/VIC more than 3 months, it must be registered with the rego of the state you live in.

IMO, stuff all Aussie cars would pass a NZ WOF, including mine!

Riding a Honda is like having 'welcome' tatooed on your arse.
Pink slippers are positively macho compared to that.

The question here is what is the peg made of ????.
If its just a smooth section of alloy with no grip knurling on it then i too would fail you for it. But if it has a knurling it does not require a rubber or anything else.
I as a mechanic i daily get the hassle of cars without head rests where you can take them out cause people cant see past them, and if i sign and issue a WOF to that car and the person sitting in that seat gets a head / neck injury from a crash then me and me alone gets hauled up to court to answer the case and when you have an A.V.I.C. you just simply have to stick to the rules as they are written, I dont say i always agree with them but i have to uphold them.
MORAL = Dont shoot the messenger ok. Its a prick of a job otherwise everybody would be doing it.

I'm blatently hijacking the thread here but my car failed its wof because the hand brake was aparantly no powerful enough. It is plenty powerful enough but you have to yank it on really hard. Is there anything to say it must be easily applied. Handbrakes a stupid rule anyway you could just park in gear if it bothered you - hence why bikes don't have one.
