    Is your bike safe??

As part of preparing for our trip over Xmas/NY, I just replaced the rear tyre on the GSXR. Pilot Sport to match the front (done last month). Still WOF standard (just) but don't want a hassle whilst away. Thought to check the disc pads back and front... all of them were right on the limit (in fact one of the front ones had gone past the wear grooves ). Also did an oil/filter change.
    So now I'm all set.
Might be a good idea for people to give their rides a good check over. Sure, you will have a current WOF, won't you? Things wear very quickly on bikes and we are all very vulnerable out there, without some sort of avoidable mechanical fault.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Its not just the bike that needs attention, 80% is the idiot in the saddle.

Keep safe, an don't be scared to stay at home. Another day, another time.

Maybe I'm just paranoid but I'm very aware of just about every bit of my motorcycle. I find it difficult to accept that people don't notice their steering head's a bit loose, the carbs aren't quite balanced right, the camchain feels a bit loose...

    Obviously I'm just weird.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Now that would have to be the pot calling the kettle black. Is it only half the risk on one wheel than on two.
