    24/07/04 Track day round up

    Hey everyone,

Its that time again to have the track day round up... I turned up really late as usual (wasnt even going to turn up) and once again the bikes had just started their session when i arrived.... People that were there were Zed, KK, Darryboy, Drunken Monkey, Curious George and a few other racers and non KB members that i know....

I wasnt going to race, but everyone convinced me to get on the track..... So i did, and was going much faster than my 1:23's last weekend... I estimate 1:21's and the odd 1:20 bike wont go any faster, so need to do some modificaions to the pegs hehehe.....

KB guys that need a mention, DM who entered Jennian at 220kmh grinded his peg and almost ran wide of the track..... Zed who was coming close to scraping his peg on Castrol..... KK who put down a bloody fast 1:11.02 on tyres that were well passed their used by date and Curious George who was getting some solid 1:20's Niceone:

I had a bit of a moment coming up the hill again (what is it with me and that corner...) where i wasnt hanging of as much as i normally do, the peg hit the deck and i got a little bit of sideways action at 150-160kmh nearly shat myself.....

Zed has done a little review as well here....

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
    my own fault really.

Heehee. Good to see ya TS. Sh*t, you put in a hell of a ride on that 150 of yours.
Zed, sorry I missed you, still no face to the name, but if that's your bike in your avitar, I think I saw you???
The Two stroke crew were there in big clouds of blue smoke, out smoked only by the drifters doing burnouts. Dumasses.
Jeez, FireFight, I thought you may have put in a guest apperance, just to say hello, or at least hold an unbrella or two.....next time?
A great day, utterly fantastic, cant wait till next one

Was an awesome day....pity about those things with 4 wheels cos I got bored with them real quick. Great to meet some new (and old ahem) faces.

I am still intrigued as to spare washer on KKs bike tank just before he pulled out for his second run. Hope nothing fell off. I had to make a dash for a certain bike shop to sort some things out. Next time I might just have to give it a go - no gals out there I noticed

Sorry I missed you too, I thought I got around to meet all of the KBr's? What colour leathers were you wearing - mostly white/off white?

And yes, that is my bike in my avatar/profile pic. DM & I were parked all day underneath the overbridge walkway when we weren't on the track...trying to blend in amongst all the CBR1000's, GSXR1000's, & R1's!!

Yes, that was a bit keen. It 'twas only a mere touch with that peg. Pulled it back in line and plodded slowly round the left hander...

My wobbles on the hill looked, to the spectators, a lot worse than it felt on the seat. My flatmate described it as 'crossed up', but he is prone to exaggeration...

Good to see you sneak a quick run in at the end of the day there, TS.

    Tech question:
Does jacking up the back of the gixxer lessen the braking ability? Or is my bike not diving as much in the front as others (who are oft braking later than I) simply because I'm not grabbing a full handful of brake?
