    There's a whole radt of rules about that, you must not be able to see the blue light from ahead or behind, and from blah blah angle blah blah blah.

    Lamps that need to comply need to comply - those that don't have to comply don't have to comply.

    eg....you need a rear reflector that complies with the regulation....and then you can cover the back of your bike with as many non complying reflectors of any colour you like.And you can stick silly purple lights on your windscreen washers,they don't have any regulations to cover those....
