You're bloody confusing ME now ... you were talking about the door... which you get at from the south. Well, you can get at it from south north east west, but MY directions were from the south

I think you have no idea what you are talking about ... whereas I spent 4.5 years wandering about that hell hole

Just make sure you found arts, and not human sciences building...

Um well my class is 9am - 11 am so I guess i will be on the mway no later than 8am, prob even 7.30am.

It will prob take me even longer in all the traffic to find the dam place again.. and i normally have to got the same route to get to a place again... so may take me even longer...

Tell me about it!!! I had to go to all these different rooms (which were open at very specific times on certain days), sit "exams" and get a "degree". Once I had the "degree" I had to set off on another quest, to find the "real world".

They should turn it into a game... same sort of quest format really, with obstacles called "lecturers" along the way

This is the most entertaining thread I've read all night!

    Some points:

    1. Ixion, you are a bad man. A bad BAD man. Well done.
    2. Grem....ah there's nothing I can say.
    3. Disco - look, I had a similar problem to you when I was doing (concurrent) degrees at uni and Manukau tech, so i just a) chose papers all in the same geographical location, and b) manufactured fake parking tickets for myself so i could park on Symonds street all the time.
    4. Auckland uni is the frickin WEIRDEST campus in the world.

Ok tonight get your map book out..... look at the easiest route there.... then highlight the roads in a coloured marker.....

Use that route to get you there....
It shouldnt take that long to get to Symonds street......

You go off at Newton Rd Gully off ramp...... (set of lights) turn right.......go over bridge (which is over the motorway) another set of lights, go up the hill..... at the top (set of lights) Turn left into Symonds Street....follow that...... you will get to the uni from that direction.

Ive been thinking about investing in one of those GPS thingies... but I think I would keep crashing when I spend more time trying to work out where I am on the screen...

I've seen that NW motorway of yours in rush hour, you'll have to lane split like mad. But y' can't go wrong, Newton Rd off ramp is y'r best bet I reckon, then just wiggle around a bit, and you should end up in Symonds St, just below where Partington's Windmill used to be before they tore it down. Or in Wakefield st, opposite the pub (not sure if that's still there, but it jolly well ought to be), Then hang a left (or two, if necessary), Down toward Anzac Ave (I never did quite figure out where Anzac Ave becomes Symonds St, but anyway, one or other), and Bob's y'r Mummy's special friend. If you get to the Supreme Court ('tisn't that any more, mind, which is no loss, it was a shithole of a place. Is no better now, and infested by raving idiots), you've gone too far.

Now, I defy anyone to come up with clearer, simpler, more explicit directions than that.

Whenever I go to the city I always get off next to that big giant porcupine thing. Go down the hill, turn a right (not sure of road names) and end up passing sky tower on my right, then I reach Queen Street. Then from that point i can either get to:

Mission Bay, K-Road, Real Groovy, Cinema, and now princes street via some weird combination of one-way roads and path through the park.

Ive tried other ways and I get lost... broadway is a common place for me to end up, so is ponsonby. Whenever I get lost I will be at one of those places.

What? That makes as much sense as "tits on a bull" !

turn right at the place thats not there anymore, then left at the othe place thats prob not there either.. then look for the place thats now something else...

    flipping eck!

    crashe already has...

Anzac becomes err.. anzac, at intersection of symonds and alten... and the other road (sheesh, I'm almost as bad). Would "wiggle" be a special kind of direction, and when would I use it?

Follow crashe's directions, they would work... provided you stop in the right area roughly... Use the big shiny flash building as a pointer (Information Commons building)
