Just insured my vtr1000 with kiwibike today, very competitive rates even without a no claims bonus. For me was about 1/2 the premium and excess of the "big companies".

    Honda Riders Club

I went with the Honda Riders Club insurance. It is a better price than the Ulysses scheme. The bike is covered against theft anywhere, not just in a locked shed, and you are covered while on Honda Riders Club training days at Taupo or wherever.

They also allow payment by installment which is friendly.

NAC (National Auto Club) do new bikes at 1000cc between $700-$800ish. I now have an 1800cc bike at also well under a grand for full insurance.

Not too bad, I'm 23, with 40% no claims and a 2001 GSXR 1000, paying $500 per year fully comp.
