Traffic warning for Welly KBers (4 January)

Hey there all,
Well on the way to work this fine morning I noticed the boys (and girls) in blue are running a speed trap on the motorway. It's going south before the terrace off ramp, with a radar gun on on what looks like the Aurora Tce over bridge with 3 cars parked at the ready just past it.

Take it easy on the speed going south as they look like they're going to be there for a while.

And in the sage words of hill st blues "Lets be careful out there"!

Notorious accident black spot that one. Just like at the end of passing lanes and at the bottom of hills.

Ignoring Jimbo's deservedly sarcastic comment, that's probably one of the worse spots for minor nose to tail accidents in heavy traffic. So maybe the stats support the speed trap.

Now where did I put that M240?

The Highway Patrol officers have been using a handheld off there since late last year...not a new spot...although I havent seen them operating off Belmont Bridge for a while.

Was riding on motorway after xmas and had some knob in a cage pull out and fly past me as I was only doing 100..giving me the eyeballs as he went by..guess he hadnt seen the flouro yellow jacket on the overhead bridge holding the laser....he saw the chase car behind him though as I went past tooting the horn and waving....best post xmas present......

Yeah true, but what speed is everyone doing when it is heavy traffic I wonder, as opposed to the times when they are pinging the radar? No problem with enforcement. Just like to see it done in the right places AND also at the right times.
