    Should someone 'fess up?

Race car sets harbour bridge history with 160km/h crossing

Race driver Jonny Reid flashed into the history books today with the fastest officially approved crossing of Auckland's Harbour Bridge in its 48-year history.
Gee. 160kph over the bridge. Be a pity to prick their bubble, eh. Just leave them thinking that's the fastest.

Wonder if Jonny got airbourne over the top also?

    It does say Official though.

But it is very interesting to read this bit

Even then the police had trouble getting low enough with their speed radar to pick up the electronic signature of the car because of its low profile."

I think I need to find a way to get a lower profile

Tell me about it!!! I just about fell off the chair laughing... only 160

Ok, granted, I think the clip on was closed for re-sealing, and surface didn't look great... but come on...

The bitch would be getting any speed we do "officially approved", and this doesn't mean you got fined for it

Someone close the bridge for me... oh... and lend me a modern thou

    Cool

Hang on...... I thought John Banks (ex Ak Mayor and ex MP and law breaker) did that (doing over 160km per hour) a few years ago when he run out of fuel on his Harley Davidson on a Westpac Helicopter Fundraiser run a couple of years ago....

He broke the law by speeding up over the Auckland Harbour Bridge, to get there as he was to make a speech to thank everyone for turning up and for riding safetly in it as well.

Again the cops never gave him a ticket for breaking the law.
Guess it helps to have been the ex minister of police and know people high up to get off such things.

No not our KBer John Banks......

Hehe, I know someone on this forum who for one particular urgent courier delivery he did on his trusty CBR250 across there. (Edit: No it wasn't me, this particular person wrote said CBR250 off not long after). I'm going to say that he 'wasn't' lanesplitting across it at 180kph.

    160kph?? That's seriously piss poor.

TV news said 160 k's was all the cop could get on him, he was struggling to hold the laser on such a small target.

He probably got a bit quicker than that, but they still should not call that the fastest record, because it is pathetic. 160kph...bah.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
