    Operating temp

Up until now I've never owner a bike with a digital temp guage. How many degrees celcius should I let it get before I can give it stick. I've been waiting for 65 but is that a bit conservitive. Open road cruiseing is about 70 to 75 degrees on a warm day.

It's all a matter of opinion, but with my 97 750 I'd let it get up to at least 40 before I gave it any stick, if I was really going to hammer it up probably 50-60.

And what sort of temp do they normally sit at? And at what temp should you start to be concerned? Was test riding a VTR a few weeks ago, got into a large line of slow traffic and saw 103!

They usually up around 80 - 100 and I would start worrying at 120, the display will flash at about 122 which is your warning to stop and let her cool off

About 106 before my fan kicks in, only gets there on hot days in traffic. Water has a higher bp under pressure.

Once im up and running on the open road the temp will around 66-68. On hot days it will be slightly hotter. I would suggest that you keep an eye on the temp and see where it sits on open road cruising that would be the mark. Your temp on a hotter day seems about on the mark. I know that when i have been in heavy traffic the temp goes up a lot.
