The body of a 34-year-old Auckland motorcyclist was found between Haast and Makarora yesterday.

The motorcyclist killed near in the Haast Valley on Friday was Rodney Edward Baker, of Auckland.
Senior Constable Robin Manera, of Haast, said it appeared the 34-year-old died when he failed to take a right-hand bend.
Mr Baker was on a tour of the country with two friends.
The trio left Haast after lunch on Friday, saying they would meet up in Wanaka later that day. However, Mr Baker failed to show.
A helicopter search found his body down a bank at Clarke Bluff, about 30km from Haast, Mr Manera said.
RIP.
